A New Vision for Agriculture

According to the United Nations, 2011 is the year the human population will pass the 7 billion mark. As governments around the world struggle with related issues such as food and resource scarcity, leading voices are beginning to debate and define the role agriculture will play in our shared solution.

From January 26 to February 1, the World Economic Forum held its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Dedicated to "improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders," the Forum introduced "A New Vision for Agriculture." This initiative is designed to advance market-based solutions to agricultural sustainability.

Join us throughout February as we bring you highlights from Davos and examine the evolving relationship between agriculture and global food security.
